Call for Papers ISACA Latvia and CERT.LV annual conference 2013
“Information Security – Key for Success”

ISACA Latvia and CERT.LV annual conference on IT security issues will be held in Riga, Latvia, on 23 October 2013. This one day event is held annually since 2002. Conference participants are IT security and governance professionals in Latvia representing IT, finance and telecommunication industries and government institutions. Conference is free of charge for participants. Participation in this conference is eligible for CPE hours.

This year’s conference is expected to be an international event with multiple invited guest speakers.

We invite you to participate in shaping the conference program by submitting papers on Information Security or Information System Governance, including but not limited to the following topics:

  • Data leakage risks and prevention
  • Targeted cyber attacks and their detection
  • Mobile platform security and protection
  • Human factor in information security
  • Public-Private partnership in information security
  • Information security in cloud computing

Conference speaker candidates are required to fill in an application form (MS Word), and email it to conference by 1 July 2013.

Important:

  1. Application can be submitted in either Latvian or English
  2. Presentation time - 30 minutes including questions and answers
  3. Presentations must be of educational nature. No sales presentations of particular solution will be accepted. Review of a specific tool is permitted only if 75% of the presentation time is dedicated to general approaches and methods related to presented topic and 25% describes the usage of the particular tool. Tools and applications of different manufacturers may be compared, if objective criteria are used.
  4. Conference language is English. Presentation slides must be in English and they should be submitted at least 5 working days before the conference in one of the following formats: Microsoft PowerPoint, Open Document Format (ODF) or PDF.
  5. Slides will be published on the conference home page and will be available to general public. Please state in your application, if you have any limitations to publish your presentation.

Notification of acceptance will be sent to the email address provided in the application by 15 July 2013.
